Baltimore County Man Wins $50,000 Playing Popular Scratch-off

Takes home top prize playing the Ca$h Multiplier game

A 67-year-old Rosedale man stunned his family with news of a $50,000 scratch-off win playing the Ca$h Multiplier game.

The big winner purchased his lucky instant ticket about a month ago. A casual Lottery player, he was out and about when he stopped at White Marsh Plaza Liquors for a few items and decided to play a couple of scratch-offs.

He purchased a $2 instant ticket and the $5 Ca$h Multiplier scratch-off. Instead of scratching the entire play area, the lucky player scanned the prize check barcodes on both games. To his pleasant surprise, the Ca$h Multiplier revealed a $50,000 top-prize win.

“I was so anxious,” he said. “I could not wait to get home and scratch the entire ticket so I could see how I won.”

Although super excited, the retired construction worker had to wait until his wife and son arrived home from out of town to share his great news.

“I thought it was a joke,” said the winner’s son, who accompanied his father to claim the prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. “I had to double-check the ticket to see if it was real.”

The lucky player’s son, after confirming the win, helped his dad make an appointment to claim his prize last week. The Baltimore County winner said he plans to use the windfall for a new car, furniture for his home and gifts for his family.

Also celebrating is White Marsh Plaza Liquors. For selling a $50,000 top-prize winning scratch-off, the Baltimore County retailer located at 7968 Honeygo Boulevard in Baltimore will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery.

This is the fourth top prize discovered in the Ca$h Multiplier game since it went on sale in June. Four $50,000 top prizes remain unclaimed along with more than 752,000 others ranging from $5 to $5,000.
