Bernard Blair Jr. checks his Pick 5 numbers every day using his Maryland Lottery app and usually finds his favorite five-digit number wasn’t a winner, but Dec. 9 was a different story. That evening his combination hit for $50,000.
He had $1 on the straight combination 36078, and that’s the number that hit.
“When you play every day, you know your numbers,” Bernard said Dec. 11 after claiming his prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.
The Baltimore man has been playing 36078 for years and doesn’t like to miss a drawing.
“I play every drawing – midday and evening. If you miss one drawing, your number might hit,” the warehouse worker said.
Brian said he plans to use his prize for a down payment on a house.
Also benefitting is the Inner Harbor Exxon at 1800 Russell Street, which sold the winning ticket and therefore receives a $500 bonus.
