Calvert County Woman’s Dream is a Reality After $30K Win on 30X Cash

A Prince Frederick woman is shocked after winning $30,000 on the 30X Cash scratch-off game. A novice player who plays occasionally, she scored a $100 win on the popular scratch-off, which led her to purchase more.

It was about two weeks ago when she was out with friends at Buckets Sports Bar and Grill when she decided to play some scratch-offs. The bar sits alongside Mimi’s Liquor and Gas Station at 12010 Rousby Hall Road in Lusby, so she walked over and purchased four scratch-offs including the $30 30X Cash ticket.

“I just scratched the barcode and scanned it and the message said to ‘see cashier,’” she said Oct. 20 when she claimed the prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. “That’s when she told me it was $30,000.”

She could not believe it, so later that night at home she thought her big win was all a dream.

“I thought I was dreaming, but when I woke up the next day, I knew it was real,” she said.

The winner said she will pay off some bills with her win and will save the rest.

Mimi’s Liquor and Gas Station receives a $300 bonus will for selling the top-prize winning ticket.

The 30X Cash game launched Sept. 18 with 320 top prizes of $30,000 each. The fortunate Prince Frederick player claimed the eighth top prize, leaving 312 unclaimed. There are also 37 prizes at the $5,000 second-tier level waiting to be found and thousands of prizes ranging from $30 to $500.
