Crazy Ca$h Game Gives Frederick Man Second Big Win in Two Years

Finds $50,000 top prize on lucky instant ticket

A Frederick County resident certainly has Lottery luck on his side. He won $10,000 on a scratch-off in 2021 and stopped by Lottery headquarters on Monday to claim a $50,000 top prize on a Crazy Ca$h scratch-off.

He purchased the $5 instant ticket at Sheetz #161 in Frederick, scanned it and saw the message proclaiming his big win. The 59-year-old was in disbelief until he played the game and revealed matching numbers with the $50,000 prize.

“I thought there was no way. Then I got a good look at it again,” he said. “I couldn’t believe it. I was in total shock.”

The Frederick resident sells window treatment for a living and says the cash will help him discreetly pay off his children’s student loans.

“I’m not going to let them know right away. I don’t want to make a big deal about it,” he explained.

After winning $10,000 and $50,000, is a $100,000 prize next up for our loyal player? He says he will do his part and continue to play.

His lucky Frederick County retailer will receive a bonus for selling the top-prize winning scratch-off. Sheetz #161 located at 5601 Buckeystown Pike will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery.

The Crazy Ca$h scratch-off is one of four designs in the Cash Series game. The scratch-offs went on sale June 20 and have five more $50,000 top prizes along with nine unclaimed $5,000 prizes.
