An avid fan of Maryland Lottery crossword-themed scratch-offs won the fifth out of nine top-tier $100,000 prizes on the $10 $100,000 Crossword 9th Edition game.
“I love the crosswords,” the winner, a resident of Dorchester County, said Dec. 9 when she claimed the prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. She went on to say she plays a variety of Lottery games, but the crossword tickets are her first choice.
And this wasn’t her first time winning a big prize on a crossword scratch-off. In 2019, she won $30,000 on a crossword game.
Her plan for her winnings: “I’m going to have fun spending it on me.”
The $100,000 Crossword 9th Edition game has been available since Aug. 20 and, in addition to the four remaining top prizes that remain unclaimed as of Dec. 9, there are also seven second-tier $10,000 prizes and tens of thousands of other prizes ranging from $10 to $1,000.
The ticket was sold at Zip Market at 405 High Street in Cambridge, and the shop receives a bonus of $1,000, equal to 1% of the prize value.
