Takes home top prize on Cash Boom scratch-off
When Angela Shaffer walked through the Winner’s Circle door on Tuesday, she could not contain her excitement. The Dundalk resident had just claimed a $50,000 Cash Boom prize, and she came prepared for a fun experience at Lottery headquarters.
“This is so exciting,” she told Lottery officials. “I even brought a wig to wear in my picture.”
The avid scratch-off and Keno player, who was accompanied by her significant other, was all smiles when discussing her top-prize win on the $5 game.
“I thought I read the ticket wrong, so I reread the rules,” Angela said. “Then, I FaceTimed my friend to show her the ticket to see if I was really seeing a $50,000 prize.”
Angela has some plans lined up for her winnings, including generously helping others, taking a vacation and taking her parents to Florida. Her significant other added, laughing, “I just want a good meal.”
Redner’s Markets #96 at 7938 Eastern Avenue in Baltimore will receive a $500 bonus for selling the top-prize winning scratch-off.
The Cash Boom game went on sale in September 2023 and has four $50,000 top prizes remaining, along with four $5,000 prizes and hundreds of others ranging from $10 to $1,000.
