Essex Player Follows Mom’s Lead, Wins $50,000 FAST PLAY Prize

Lucky lady takes home top-prize win in Jack Frost Jackpot game

A 33-year-old Essex woman can thank her mother for her recent $50,000 FAST PLAY Jack Frost Jackpot top-prize win. The daughter normally plays scratch-offs, but was with her mom on the lucky day she decided to buy FAST PLAY tickets instead.

On the day of her big win, the daughter and her mom were at a laundromat at Baltimore’s Hyde Park Station shopping center. While waiting for their clothes to dry, they walked to Food Lion #1653 to purchase some Lottery games. The mother is a FAST PLAY fan so the daughter decided to give the tickets a try, too. She purchased three of the $5 Jack Frost Jackpot game and they went to their car to check their games for a win. The daughter’s first two tickets were not winners but the third one carried a big surprise.

“I looked at the symbols and looked at the prize amount and looked back at the symbols,” said the winner. The FedEx employee scanned the ticket using the MD Lottery app and received the shocking message said that she won!

“I showed my mother the message on the phone and she freaked out,” said the winner. “I never thought in a million years I would win something like this.”

Next, she read the back of the ticket to learn how to claim the prize. She did so on Wednesday, which actually turned out to be her birthday. The winner said she has no initial plans for the prize and will most likely save it.

The Lottery retailer that sold the game also is celebrating. Food Lion #1653 located at 1565 Hyde Park Road in Baltimore will receive $500, equal to 1% of the prize, for selling a $50,000 top-prize winning FAST PLAY ticket.

The FAST PLAY Jack Frost Jackpot game went on sale in November of 2021 with 30 top prizes of $50,000. There are still 24 prizes remaining along with 26 unclaimed $5,000 prizes and 132 $1,000 prizes.
