A mother and daughter team in Baltimore is enjoying its biggest win ever, thanks to having played their favorite kind of game. The pair started the day Nov. 6 as big fans of bingo-style scratch-off tickets and ended it with that affection having been multiplied 100,000 times.
“When I heard her scream, I thought something awful had happened,” the mom said Nov. 10 when the two claimed their $100,000 prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.
She arrived in the room with her daughter to her visibly shaking. Her concern was calmed, though, when she saw the Bingo X10 scratch-off ticket in her hand.
“I knew exactly what was going on,” the mom said.
It took her a few minutes to fully convince the daughter that they had won big.
“It looked like a $100,000 win to me,” the daughter said, adding, “But I wanted my mother to tell me that I was seeing what I thought I was seeing.”
The pair had very different reactions to their $100,000 top-prize win in the days between the discovery and their visit to Lottery headquarters:
- Daughter: “I’ve hardly slept a wink.”
- Mother, with a big smile on her face: “I slept like a baby.”
The happy women found their winning ticket at Monumental Liquors at 2125 E. Monument Street in Baltimore. The store receives a $1,000 for selling the top-prize ticket. Bingo X10, a $10 game, went on sale in March and has since seen four of its six $100,000 prizes and 14 of its 20 second tier $10,000 claimed.
