Somerset County man claims third-tier Powerball prize
A Somerset County man and fishing enthusiast was sitting on a hefty Powerball prize, but didn’t realize until weeks later when he discovered the ticket in his glovebox. After rediscovering his forgotten ticket, he scanned it and learned he won a $50,000 prize from the March 29 drawing.
He bought his ticket at the Royal Farms at 12282 Brittingham Lane in Princess Anne. A few weeks after he put it in the glovebox and forgot about it, he visited another retailer to buy some Lottery tickets. He found his old Powerball ticket just before going in the store and decided to take it in with him to scan. Once he scanned it and saw the “see Lottery” message across the screen, he knew it must have been a big prize. His winning ticket matched four white balls and the Powerball for a third-tier $50,000 prize.
After taking it all in, he called his wife to share the great news. The state employee says he is going to use his winnings to pay off bills. When not working or playing Lottery, he enjoys spending time outdoors, especially fishing.
