Scratching Tips
Tickets scratch best when they are placed on smooth, hard/firm surfaces. Scratching tickets on rough surfaces like concrete could damage play data and/or validation barcode.
When scratching tickets, use a tool with a smooth, non-serrated edge.
Suggested tools: smooth-edged coins like nickels or pennies, instant ticket scratcher tools, washers, etc.
Tools that may damage play data and/or validation barcode:
knife blades, keys, wire brushes, etc.
If tickets are accidentally exposed to liquid or moisture, allow them to completely dry before attempting to scratch.
Probability of Winning
The probability of winning for each scratch-off game refers to all tickets that were printed. A probability of 1 in 3 means that 1 out of every 3 tickets that were printed for the game is a winner.
It does not mean 1 out of every 3 tickets that any player purchases will be a winner. Winning tickets are randomly distributed throughout a print run of millions of tickets for each game.
