Baltimore woman tells us that her $200,000 Ravens X10 scratch-off top-prize win couldn’t have come at a better time.
A Baltimore woman has been a scratch-off fan for a long time, and recently, her twice-a-week Lottery shopping has focused on finding a specific game. Her routine involves studying the Lottery’s website to find games that have big-prizes remaining. Ravens X10 with its $200,000 top prize was her latest target.
“Blazing Bay,” the alias our winner uses for this story, chose wisely.
“I’ve had lots of luck with scratch-off tickets,” the retired adult-daycare provider explained. “And as grateful as I am for $500 wins, I’ve always dreamed about finding a really big winner.”
The City resident found her lucky Ravens X10 ticket at US Fuel, a gas station located at 1418 East Fayette Street in Baltimore..
“I think I stopped breathing when I finished scratching,” she told Lottery officials while claiming the prize on May 21. “There were matches all over the place.”
Alone in the station’s convenience store, our winner allowed her excitement to manifest in a quick dance. “I was so excited about winning that I didn’t even add up all the prizes.”
When she did figure out just how much she’d just won, she tells us that she started breathing again. “I needed to take a deep breath to start sending out prayers of thanks.”
Ravens X10 is a $10 scratch-off that debuted last August. For those focusing on the bigger prizes, this Baltimore City win leaves one top prize and one $25,000 second-tier prize available. US Fuel receives a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling the top prize ticket.
