Hyattsville Woman’s Cash Scratch Fever Symptom: a $50,000 Lottery Prize

A Hyattsville women just came down with Cash Scratch Fever and the main symptom was winning a $50,000 Maryland Lottery prize, which she claimed Aug. 5 at Lottery headquarters.

The winner started to scratch the ticket and saw many matches. She was in the store where she made the purchase and using a pencil to scratch when she found the squares resulting in the win. She had nine AUTOWIN symbols with the prize of $5,000 each. Then the Prince George’s County resident had the WIN 5x symbol next to a $1,000 prize, which quintupled that one to $5,000. It all added up to $50,000.

“After I scratched that ticket, I was very happy,” the food service worker said.

According to the regular player, she is undecided on how she is going to spend her winnings.

Quick Stop Food Mart at 5700 Emerson Street in Bladensburg also experienced symptoms of Cash Scratch Fever, scoring a $500 bonus, equal to 1% of the prize amount.

Cash Scratch Fever went on sale July 18 with seven top prizes of $50,000, and the Hyattsville player is the first to claim one, leaving another six in the field. There hundreds of thousands of other prizes ranging from $5 to $5,000.
