Finds big win with Lucky Times 10 instant ticket

Playing Lottery games has become one of Alton Duffield’s favorite pastimes in retirement, he told Lottery officials. The Laurel resident plays scratch-offs several times a week, but had won only small prizes until the day he tried his luck with a new $10 game.

Alton found his winning Lucky Times 10 instant ticket at Laurel Liquors located at 420 Sandy Spring Road in Laurel. The 62-year-old spotted the game that went on sale Nov. 21, liked it and decided that he had to have it. To his surprise, he won its first $50,000 second-tier prize!

“I may have said a few happy bad words,” Alton said, recalling the moments after he scanned his instant ticket and confirmed the prize. He then told his wife of 37 years and a few other family members about his good fortune. The happy winner plans to put his windfall into the bank.

The Lucky Times 10 game is packed with prizes, including eight $100,000 top prizes, eight more $50,000 prizes, 30 $10,000 prizes and others ranging from $10 to $1,000. The probability of winning any prize is 1 in 3.5.
