Low-Key Landover Lottery Player Wins $100K on Scratch-Off Game

A low-key Lottery player from Landover scored his biggest win ever when he bought the $10 game $100,000 Crossword 10th Edition and won one of the game’s top prizes.

He claimed the $100,000 windfall Oct. 30 at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore, saying he had plans to pay off bills and adding that he planned to keep playing Lottery games. Asked if he had any preference for crossword-style scratch-offs, he demurred saying he enjoys them all.

“I like all of it!” he said.

He bought the ticket at Ardwick Liquors at 8307 Ardwick-Ardmore Road in Landover and immediately realized he had won. He calmly told his wife and the two departed, happily but quietly.

Ardwick Liquors receives a bonus of $1,000 for selling the top-tier winning scratch-off game.

The $100,000 Crossword 10th Edition game is the latest version of the popular Crossword ticket to hit the market, having gone live in August with nine top prizes. Of those, seven remained unclaimed after the Landover player’s claim. The game also has 12 second-tier prizes of $10,000 each remaining unclaimed along with tens of thousands of others ranging from $10 to $1,000.
