Loyal Lottery Player from Baltimore Wins $25,000 Playing Pick 5

Claims biggest prize of her playing career but still in pursuit of ‘the big one’

A devoted Maryland Lottery player from Baltimore who took inspiration for her Pick 5 numbers from a digit on one of her possessions ended up with a $25,000 prize.

Far and away, the win on a 50-cent straight bet in the April 22 evening drawing is the biggest Lottery prize of her playing career. The windfall tops a few prizes in the $1,500 to $1,800 range on the Pick family of games and on Keno.

When claiming her prize at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore, the 42-year-old said she had enjoyed a celebration meal before arriving. As for what else she would do with her winnings, she simply said, “I’m not sure yet.”

One thing she is certain of, however, is that she will continue playing Lottery games. “Of course! I’m trying to get the big one!” she said.

Sharing in her good fortune is Discount Cigarettes at 5716 Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park. The Baltimore City business receives a bonus of $250, equal to 1% of the prize.
