Lucky Baltimore Man’s Superstition Leads to Lottery Prize

Winner wins $50,000 on Powerball quick-pick ticket

A Baltimore man who has embraced his superstitions about Lottery luck didn’t deviate from his usual place to buy tickets. On March 22, after staying true to his superstitions, he landed a $50,000 Powerball prize.

The 45-year-old only buys Lottery tickets from Woodmoor Shell located at 7001 Liberty Road in Baltimore. One day before going to work, he stopped in to buy water and to check his previous Powerball tickets. The first ticket he scanned earned him a $4 prize followed by scans of a few non-winners. Then, he scanned his very last quick-pick ticket and realized he won a $50,000 third-tier prize in the March 22 drawing.

The happy winner kept his cool and has only shared the news with his wife. He plans to use his prize to buy a new delivery truck.

The jackpot is still on its roll and has reached $147 million for the Saturday, April 1 drawing. The cash option is $79.5 million.
