Montgomery County Real-Estate Agent Wins $50,000 Prize on Powerball Quick-Pick

A real estate agent from Chevy Chase is pondering the purchase of a new home after briefly forgetting about a Lottery ticket that ended up winning him $50,000.

The Montgomery County man routinely buys a Powerball ticket each month bought two quick pick combinations on Feb. 9 and then forgot about it. His memory was jogged two days later when he heard that there was a winning Powerball ticket sold at the store where he made his purchase. A quick check of his ticket confirmed that he’d won a $50,000 prize.

The ticket was purchased at a Lottery vending machine at the Giant Food at 8500 Connecticut Avenue in Chevy Chase.

The first of his two quick pick combinations matched four of the first five white balls drawn and plus the red Powerball, giving him a $50,000 third-tier win.

He has been working in real estate for six years and enjoys sailing in his free time. He plans to put his winnings toward buying a house, with some also going into a high-yield savings account.
