Prince George’s County man bets same number on both tickets in February drawing
A casual Lottery player from Upper Marlboro stopped by a Royal Farms store after shopping at a farmers market, bought a $1 straight bet Pick 5 ticket for the evening drawing and then played the same number a second time.
It hit, giving him a $100,000 combined win in the Feb. 27 drawing.
When claiming the prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore, the happy winner said he will continue playing the same way, placing two $1 bets on the same number, in future drawings. He looks forward to the possibility of winning $100,000 again!
As for plans for his windfall, the Prince George’s County man says he’s not much on celebrations or special events. He is, however, an avid motorcycle racer so part of his winnings will pay for motorcycle parts, and some will go toward squaring up his finances.
The Royal Farms where he bought the ticket is located at 5351 Ritchie-Marlboro Road in Upper Marlboro. The store receives a combined Lottery bonus of $1,000 for selling two $50,000-winning Pick 5 tickets.
