New Set of Wheels in the Works for $50,000 Pick 5 Winner

Happy player won with combination of personal numbers

A Prince George’s County woman has car shopping on her mind after winning $50,000 on a Pick 5 ticket in the Feb. 25 drawing.

The loyal Pick 5 player was trying her luck twice a day until recently, when she and her husband cut back to playing the game weekly. “Once in a while we play,” said the retired medical worker. “We have slacked off a bit.”

Her $1 straight bet on the game paid off, giving her a $50,000 top prize in the evening drawing. The avid card player explained that she uses birthdays, wedding anniversaries and partial Social Security numbers to create the five digits used in her Pick 5 wagers. Numbers for the $50,000 winning ticket she bought at 7-Eleven #11690 in Suitland included a combination of these digits.

“I was happy, very happy,” she said of her Lottery luck. “I couldn’t believe I had won.”

The winner plans to purchase a new car and new furniture with her prize. Also benefiting from her big win is the Suitland 7-Eleven #11690, which is located at 6404 Auth Road. The retailer will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling the $50,000-winning ticket.

There are more opportunities than ever to win with the Pick family of games. A Double Pay on Box Play promotion is under way through March 10, offering the chance at a double payout! Box your Pick 3, Pick 4 or Pick 5 numbers for the chance to win twice the cash if your numbers hit. The promotion is available only on $1 Box bets.
