It’s happened to him before, a Baltimore City resident reported this week when visiting Lottery headquarters to claim the biggest prize of his life. He emerged from a dream on Aug.25 with a five-digit number locked into his memory. It was 12 hours and a Pick 5 ticket purchase later when he’d won $50,000 playing those numbers: 00380.
“It’s almost never as clear as it was this time,” the postal employee said Sept. 3 when he claimed his winnings. “It’s usually sort of a hint of a number, a hazy picture in my head.” He still plays those numbers – as best as he can make them out – but they rarely come through for him.
Every once in a while, though, the dream numbers are crystal clear, and those are the Lottery moments he never forgets. This late-August Tuesday night win tops all the others.
“I scanned my ticket, saw the $50,000, and just stood there in the store. Couldn’t move. Couldn’t breathe. Couldn’t believe it,” he said.
The man’s Lottery dream became reality courtesy of Save More at 4200 Wabash Avenue in Baltimore. The store receives a $500 bonus for selling the top prize Pick 5 winner.
