An Oxon Hill mom was watching the Pick 5 drawing online and was shocked to see that she won the $50,000 top-prize.
“I hit the number!” she said April 14 when she claimed the prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.
The Prince George’s County player said she doesn’t prefer looking up the winning numbers online. She loves the anticipation and enjoys watching the animated video of the drawing at mdlottery.com. After she saw she had a winner, she took a screenshot of the drawing on her phone.
The loyal player reported she placed a $1 straight bet on the April 9 evening game and won with the digits 10110. It was the old address of a family member. When that relative passed, she started playing the combination daily.
“I had a dream that she told me to play it,” the big winner said.
The medical worker likes to travel and enjoys visiting the MGM National Harbor Casino in Forest Heights, but said she has specific plans for her prize.
“I am going to invest it,” she said.
The winning ticket was sold at Harbor Market at 5515 Livingston Road in Oxon Hill. For selling the winner, the Prince George’s County retailer receives a 1 percent bonus, which is equivalent to $500.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
