Pasadena Caterer Cooks Up a Hot Lottery Prize

Lucky woman claims $50,000 prize on 50 Years! scratch-off ticket

A Pasadena woman, who is a regular scratch-off enthusiast, was intrigued by the Maryland Lottery’s 50th anniversary 50 Years! scratch-off. She bought four tickets, and one happened to be a $50,000 winner.

The tickets were purchased at Royal Farms #183 at 8551 Ft. Smallwood Road in Pasadena. Although the lucky lady plays quite regularly, she says that she has never won more than $50. “I started shaking because I so happy,” the 61-year-old said upon discovering she won the big prize.

So far, the happy winner has only told her daughter about her newfound fortune. She has worked as a caterer for the past 20 years, and plans to use her winnings for some needed home improvements and to help some family members.

The 50 Years! scratch-off is the Maryland Lottery’s first $50 ticket, and it launched in February commemorating the Lottery’s 50th anniversary. There are two $5 million top-prizes remaining, along with two $50,000 prizes.
