Prince George’s County Woman Wins $50,000 on Money Maker Scratch-Off

A Prince George’s County woman who very seldom finds herself playing Lottery occasionally gets together with friends and buys either scratch-off tickets or play Racetrax (or sometimes both).

On a recent exception to her usual social gathering play, she selected a Money Maker scratch-off on a whim and it put $50,000 in her pocket.

She visited a Lottery kiosk at Lewisdale Market at 7701 23rd Ave. in Hyattsville and bought the $5 game, scratching the card while still inside the store.

She immediately noticed she had matched the number 16 for the $50,000 prize, and was overwhelmed with nervous excitement, she said Oct. 21 when she claimed the prize.

She was so happy, she said, that her face changed colors.

After gathering herself, she called and shared the news with family who were equally surprised. She plans to use her winnings to pay bills and take care of family. Lewisdale Market receives a $500 bonus.

The Money Maker scratch-off ticket was launched last year. A single top prize remains unclaimed on the game.
