Who said going to the gas station is costly? A Randallstown woman went to get gas and decided to play a quick game of Racetrax while inside, and ended up winning $62,576 on the animated horse racing game.
She played the long odds, high-payoff horses, 9, 10, 11 and 12, in a 10-cent Superfecta boxed configuration for 6 races, so her total ticket price was $14.40 ($2.40 per race).
“I like to play the higher numbers,” she said, explaining the odds of winning are low but the payout is substantial when those horses win.
The Baltimore County resident said she had a smile on her face when she checked her ticket.
“When I found out the next day, I was happy,” she said.
The computer analyst said she likes to play different Lottery games and is grateful she took the time to play. She plans on saving her prize money for the future.
“It is going towards my retirement fund,” the big winner said.
The Owings Mills business where she purchased her gas and ticket is also a big winner. The Racetrax ticket was sold at Owings Mills Mall Exxon at 10375 Red Run Boulevard in Owings Mills, which picks up a 1% bonus of $625.76 for selling the ticket.
