A retired diesel mechanic from Windsor Mill just won a $100,000 top prize on a $100,000 Crossword 9th Edition scratch-off ticket.
The ticket was purchased at Columbia Fine Wine and Spirits at 10400 Shaker Drive.
A random selection process led the winner to the $10 ticket, and the card’s puzzle number 3 yielded him 10 matching words, giving the former mechanic a $100,000 payday. He was quite excited when he learned how much he had won.
Although retired, he still enjoys working on and rehabbing antique cars for shows. He plans to just save his winnings.

The $100,000 Crossword 9th Edition ticket was launched in August of 2025 and only one of the game’s original nine $100,000 prizes remains unclaimed. Crossword games are especially popular, so a 10th edition of the $100,000 Crossword ticket was launched last month and all nine of the $100,000 top prizes remain available on that edition.
