Scratch-Off Enthusiast from Suitland Claims $50,000 Top Prize on 20X the Cash

A Suitland woman enjoys playing the Lottery several times a week, particularly scratch-off tickets, but one day she almost skipped her routine. A last-minute change of mind, however, gave her a $50,000 prize.

She claimed her winnings Feb. 20 at Lottery headquarters and told her story of winning. She drives by the 7-Eleven store at 6404 Auth Road in Suitland every day on her way home from work and often stops there to play. On the day she almost skipped, she ended up buying a variety of scratch-off tickets, including one for the $5 game 20X the Cash.

She took them home and scratched the tickets later that day and, on the 20X the Cash scratch-off she noticed a match on the number 16, with the prize amount $50,000 under it.

Stunned, she said she thought she was going crazy trying to decide what to do next. When she regained her composure, she called family and friends to share her good news. She plans to put the winnings toward buying a new home, and also has a vacation and a birthday celebration on her agenda.

The 7-Eleven receives a $500 bonus for selling a top-prize-winning scratch-off. The bonus is equal to 1% of the prize total.

The game 20X the Cash was launched in January with seven $50,000 top prizes, and this win leaves four remaining unclaimed.
