Scratch-Off Gift Bestows Fortune on Lucky Virginia Man

Wins $100,000 top prize on $100,000 Lucky instant ticket

The holidays became merrier than ever for a Virginia man, who unwrapped a $100,000 fortune hiding in the gift of a $100,000 Lucky scratch-off.

The Falls Church resident and a few family members received scratch-offs as gifts this holiday season and he wound up as a top-prize winner. “I thought I was seeing things,” said the 37-year-old. The big win appeared so unreal that he called other family members to give the $30 instant ticket a second look. They confirmed the win and he made his way to Lottery headquarters in Baltimore to claim the prize.

The happy winner plans to use part of his newfound fortune to help family members. He will pay off bills with the remainder.

The gift giver purchased the $100,000 Lucky scratch-off at Twin Towers Market located at 1110 Fidler Lane in Silver Spring. The Montgomery County business will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for its role in selling a $100,000 top-prize winning scratch-ticket.

The $100,000 Lucky game went on sale in September 2021 and still has 34 top prizes remaining, along with 21 $5,000 prizes and others ranging from $30 to $500.
