A Baltimore man recently became a millionaire after scratching off a $1 million top prize on a $20 Triple Red 777s ticket.
After the Lottery fan purchased and scratched his ticket, he spotted that he had the “AUTOWIN 7” symbol. The prize underneath revealed it was worth $1 million.
The avid Orioles fan said he has won smaller prizes in the past, but this is his first top-prize win. “It was unbelievable,” he told Lottery officials.
The grandfather said he is undecided on how he is going to spend his prize. He added that he doesn’t have too many hobbies but might use his prize to have some fun.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Wawa store at 2845 Rolling Road in Windsor Mill. For selling the top-prize winning ticket, the Baltimore County retailer receives a bonus of $1,000.
The Triple Red 7s Family of Games went on sale on May 15 with scratch-offs at five different price points between $1 and $20. This is the first top-prize winner claimed on the $20 Triple Red 777s game, leaving four $1 million prizes unclaimed. Four $50,000 prizes also remain on the ticket after players in Kent County and Hampstead each claimed one.
