Seasoned Player Returns to Winner’s Circle, Collects $30,879 Racetrax Prize

This seasoned player from Riverdale found his latest prize playing Racetrax.

Riverdale man wins big betting on 10-11-12 horses

A Trifecta Box Racetrax bet placed on Presidents’ Day gave a Prince George’s County Lottery fan a $30,879 prize! The 61-year-old exuded nothing but confidence as he sat in the Maryland Lottery Winner’s Circle after collecting yet another big prize.

The anonymous winner, who selected the nickname “The Believers” for publicity purposes, said that he always plays 20 races on horses 10, 11 and 12. This race was no different. He bet $6 per race and struck gold in the ninth round.

Racetrax, a computer-animated Lottery game that combines the thrill of horseracing with the payout and prizes of a Keno game, isn’t the only Lottery game favored by “The Believers.” The Riverdale resident said he won at least three other big prizes in recent years: a $50,000 Bonus Match 5 top prize, a $10,000 score in a Keno game and $8,000 prize in a second-chance drawing. This is one lucky guy!

When asked if he had any advice for other Lottery players, the winner said to “Stay the course.” “The Believers” doesn’t have any immediate plans for his prize, but noted his birthday is coming up. He plans to keep his latest score a secret and celebrate his win and his birthday in Atlantic City.

“The Believers” found his lucky ticket at Giant #301, located at 13781 Connecticut Avenue in Silver Spring. The Montgomery County business will receive a $308.79 bonus from the Lottery for its role in selling a winning Racetrax ticket of $10,000 or more. The bonus is equal to 1% of the prize.
