He’s a Maryland Lottery regular who’s picked up some solid wins in the second-chance My Lottery Rewards program through the years, but a $50,000 score on a scratch-off ticket is the Parkville player’s top prize to date.
All smiles when he and his brother were at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore May 20, the winner said he has no plans for the windfall.
“I’m just enjoying myself,” he said.
He is sure of one thing. When asked if he will continue to play the Lottery, he said: “Oh, yes!”
The winner plays scratch-off tickets every week, and then enters his non-winning tickets in his Rewards account. Over the years, he has won numerous second-chance prizes, with the best so far being a Holiday second-chance prize.
Accompanying the winner was his younger brother, also a Lottery enthusiast. Though the younger brother hasn’t won big, he remains confident: “It’s going to happen sooner or later.”
The Parkville man’s big win came on the $20 game $50,000 Cash, which started with 160 prizes at the top tier $50,000 level and now has 63 of those remaining unclaimed.
The ticket was purchased at Speedy Mart, 7501 Harford Road in Parkville. The shop receives a bonus of $500, equal to 1% of the prize total.
