Hagerstown man wins $31,233 on high-odds horses
A Western Maryland resident has quite the affinity for Racetrax. He plays other Lottery games as well, but Racetrax keeps delivering big prizes. After playing horses 10, 11, and 12 for years, the Hagerstown man just claimed his second five-figure Racetrax within 24 months.
Lottery luck came his way when the Washington County resident visited Roxy Liquors in Hagerstown. He cashed in a batch of winning scratch-offs and, while there, placed a Trifecta Box wager on his usual horses in the order of 10, 11 and 12 for three drawings. The Racetrax fan then went on about his business.
Later that day, he remembered to check the Lottery app for the race results and initially thought he won $30. Upon further inspection, he realized that he had missed quite a few zeros in his prize. His horses delivered a $31,233 payday in the first race.
The two-time, five-figure Racetrax winner told Lottery officials that he and his wife will soon celebrate their anniversary. He plans to use his prize to make the milestone special and also to fund home projects and future fun activities.
His lucky Lottery retailer, Roxy Liquors, is located at 761 East Wilson Boulevard in Hagerstown. The Washington County business will receive a Lottery bonus of $312.33 for selling a winning Racetrax ticket worth $10,000 or more. The bonus is equal to 1% of the prize.
