Finds top prize on $150,000 Extreme instant ticket
A Michigan man who travels for work and for pleasure happened to be in Maryland earlier this summer, visiting friends, when he stopped to buy gas and scratch-offs at a Prince George’s County retailer.
“I buy multiples of different games,” he said of his game-playing routine. One of the multiple scratch-offs he selected that day in Upper Marlboro was the $150,000 Extreme instant ticket, which went on sale in March with five top prizes. The out-of-state player revealed the second $150,000 top prize in the $10 game.
“I was a bit shocked,” he said. “I didn’t know what to do.”
The startled player phoned his wife to share his fabulous news and claimed his prize last week at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. The $150,000 will go toward paying off some of his home mortgage and his college loans, said the happy winner. He considers himself lucky to win the biggest prize of his life, noting, “I’ve played for 20 years.” He and his wife plan to keep news of his Lottery luck a secret.
Plenty of prizes remain in this game, including three more $150,000 top prizes, 14 $10,000 second-tier prizes and others ranging from $10 to $1,000.
Also celebrating his win is his Lottery retailer. Xtra Fuels located at 15009 Marlboro Pike in Upper Marlboro received a $1,000 Lottery bonus for selling a $150,000 top-prize winning scratch-off.
