$100,000-Winning Powerball Ticket Sold in Prince George’s County

Player bought lucky ticket at Mitchellville grocery

A lucky Powerball player went to sleep last night $100,000 richer after winning a third-tier prize in the March 2 drawing.

Third-tier prizes in Powerball are $50,000, but the winner doubled the prize by adding the  Power Play option to the lucky ticket that was purchased at Weis Markets #290 located at 12100 Central Avenue in Mitchellville. Even though no one hit the jackpot, there were 8,851 winning tickets in Maryland for the March 2 Powerball drawing, ranging from $4 to $100,000. Another 1,835 Maryland players added Power Play to their tickets, doubling their prize with the 2x multiplier.

Check your tickets to see if they match the winning numbers of 19, 37, 48, 61 and 63; the Powerball was 12

The Powerball jackpot has rolled to an estimated annuity value of $85 million for the Saturday, March 5 drawing, with an estimated cash option of $56.6 million. This is the 15th third-tier Powerball prize won in 2022 and the third to double to $100,000 because the winner added Power Play.

Lottery officials encourage all winners to sign the backs of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location. They get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.
