Replacement vehicle, residence upgrade in the works
He’s a devotee of Maryland Lottery FAST PLAY games, and the Glen Burnie man’s preference was cemented on Oct. 18. That’s the day he bought a $10 ticket on the Wild Bonus X10 game and ended up with a $121,527 progressive jackpot.
“Every once in a while, I get a scratch-off to have something to do. It’s easier with FAST PLAY. You know if you’re a winner right away,” the Anne Arundel County resident said on Oct. 23 when he claimed his windfall at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. He won the second progressive jackpot in the game, which joined the FAST PLAY lineup in July.
In his years of playing, the winner has picked up occasional small prizes, and remembers his brother once scored a $30,000 win on a scratch-off. His Wild Bonus X10 jackpot prize is far and away is best win to date.
With his Lottery windfall, the retiree’s main focus is making a few lifestyle adjustments so he can be more comfortable.
“At 74, I think I can hold on to enough of it for long enough to make my life easier,” he said. Immediate lifestyle improvements will include the purchase of a replacement vehicle and a slightly better upgrade to his living arrangements than was already in the works. He is in the process of changing homes, and the win increases his options.
Sharing in the loyal player’s good fortune is the Royal Farms #067 at 7201 Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard in Glen Burnie. The Anne Arundel County Lottery retailer receives a bonus of $1,000 for selling a progressive jackpot-winning FAST PLAY ticket of $100,000 or more.
