A Maryland Lottery player in Silver Spring had a good night on Thursday after purchasing a FAST PLAY High Roller Blackjack ticket that won a $168,860 progressive jackpot.
The winning ticket was sold at Georgia Fuel and Treats, 9336 Georgia Avenue. The Montgomery County retailer will receive a bonus of $168.86 for selling the ticket — equal to 1% of the prize.
The $10 High Roller Blackjack game was launched on Jan. 5, and the ticket sold in Silver Spring was the fifth of the game’s progressive jackpots that has been won. But there are still 20 more progressive jackpot prizes remaining along with 14 $50,000 prizes and thousands of other prizes that range from $10 to $10,000.
With the win, the FAST PLAY High Roller Blackjack reset to its base amount of $100,000 and will continue to grow each time a ticket is sold until the next jackpot-winning ticket is purchased.
The Lottery urges the winners to sign the backs of winning tickets and keep them safe. Winners have 182 days from the date of the drawing (or the date of purchase for a winning FAST PLAY ticket) to claim their prizes.
Instructions for claiming prizes are available on the How to Claim page of the Lottery website. Prizes of more than $25,000 must be claimed through Lottery headquarters, either in person or by mail. Lottery headquarters is in the Montgomery Park Business Center, 1800 Washington Blvd., Suite 330, in Baltimore. An appointment is required to claim in person (no walk-ins).
