A Lottery scratch-off fan and jackpot chaser hit it big for the second time playing the $100,000 Ca$h Scratch-Off game. It was April 17 when a $200 win in turned into something much bigger.
The Frederick player enjoys the high price-point games. He had been having some luck with the $30 game $100,000 Ca$h, recently winning $200, so he stopped at the Mount Airy Shell gas station to cash in and buy some more games. He purchased four scratch-off tickets, plus some draw games. He was at home when he scratched the tickets and scanned them one by one on his phone, until the last ticket revealed the big win: a $100,000 top prize on the $100,000 Ca$h game.
“I overlooked the message at first and swiped it away,” said the winner. “Then I said, ‘Wait, what did I just see?’”
He went back and scanned the ticket again and saw the congratulatory message. He was holding a $100,000 winning ticket. He is no stranger to good fortune. In 2017 he won a $50,000 Bonus Match 5 prize. With that prize he earned his Master’s Degree.
When he claimed the $100,000 prize at Lottery headquarters on April 20, he shared that he plans to pay off some bills and save the rest for emergencies. He also shared that a new car might be in his future.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Mount Airy Shell at 649 Lake View Drive in Mount Airy. For selling the top-tier winning $100,000 Ca$h ticket, the retailer will receive a $1,000 bonus.
The $100,000 Ca$h game hit the streets in 2023 with 65 $100,000 top prizes. There are 46 remaining. In addition, there are thousands of prizes waiting to be found ranging from $30 to $5,000.
