$50,000 Scratch-off Prize Has Happy Family Thinking About New House

Washington, D.C.. couple picks up winning ticket at 7-Eleven in Elkridge

A $50,000 Maryland Lottery scratch-off prize has put a new home on the horizon for a couple from Washington, D.C.

They purchased a $5 FAMILY FEUD® ticket at 7-Eleven #39135 at 6590 Old Waterloo Road in Elkridge. Upon scratching it, they realized the “Survey Number” 25 matched a 25 in the “Your Numbers” section with a $50,000 prize under it. To be certain, they scanned the ticket at the ticket checker, and, sure enough, it flashed, “Congratulations!”

“We got so excited,” their daughter said. With the proceeds, the pair plan to make a down payment on a house. Also on the horizon is a big celebration for their big family. Meanwhile, they plan to keep playing.

“They always figured that one day they would win,” their daughter said.

Also celebrating is the 7-Eleven store that sold the ticket, which will receive a $500 bonus, equal to 1% of the prize total.

Since it went on sale in April, the FAMILY FEUD® ticket has become one of the most popular scratch-offs in the Maryland Lottery catalog. Of the 10 top prizes of $50,000, four already have been claimed. The ticket is in the No. 8 spot on the Maryland Lottery Top-40 Scratch-Offs Chart after holding the No. 5 spot for several weeks at the end of April and into May.
