“Racetrax Mom,” of Harford County, with her husband, played a game of Racetrax and won $56,435.
A Harford County woman was full of excitement July 28 when she stopped by Lottery headquarters, husband at her side, to claim a $56,435 prize on the game Racetrax.
“I almost fell over. I couldn’t believe it,” said the stay-at-home mother, who is using the alias “Racetrax Mom” to tell her tale of winning.
She described herself as a casual player of the computer animated horse racing game and picked a great time to play. She placed a $1 Superfecta bet, with the multiplier bonus option, on July 8 using the numbers 4, 6, 9 and 11. The total ticket price for 10 races was $48.
According to “Racetrax Mom,” she had a good feeling and decided to buy a ticket.
“Let me try it. I just had a hunch,” she said.
The next day, she scanned her ticket on her phone and saw her numbers were winners. Since she played the bonus, her prize was multiplied to $56,435.
“Racetrax Mom” said she is undecided on how to use her winnings, but her husband said he is trying to talk her into buying a minivan.
“We will see,” she responded with a smile.
The winning ticket was purchased at Mimi’s Liquor Station at 12010 Rousby Hall Road in Lusby. The Calvert County retailer will receive a 1 percent bonus of $564.35 for selling the winning Racetrax ticket.
