A Baltimore County man is planning a future in the medical field after winning $32,280 on the animated horseracing game Racetrax. He has only been playing for a few months, but already has reaped a big reward.
The Randallstown man said he just recently started playing Racetrax with his uncle, who showed him the ropes. They often play together and bounce ideas of each other, the winner said July 27 when he claimed the prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.
Back on May 2, the winner said he was having a good day at the gym and decided to play his favorite game.
“I was feeling great,” he said. “I guess it was an adrenaline rush.”
So, the thrilled student headed over to the Royal Farms store at 11510 Reisterstown Road in Owings Mills and played a $1 Trifecta ticket for 20 draws, with the bonus, for a total ticket cost of $35.
He said he watched some of the races play out, but left the store before the games on his winning ticket showed. It was days later when he realized he’d won big.
“I left tickets in the car and remembered that I needed to check them,” he said. “When I scanned that one winning ticket and it said $32,280, I thought, ‘Wow, I can pay for school!’”
The school he was referring to is medical school and he said this win will set him on his way.
“Next thing to do is the MCAT,” he smiled, referring to the Medical College Admission Test.
The Royal Farms store that sold the ticket receives a bonus of $322.80.
