Powerball and the NFL Team Up for Launch of Powerball Xs & Os™

New weekly game combines excitement of NFL fandom, a rolling jackpot and the first national promotional prize program in Powerball history

With the 2026 NFL season about to begin, a new multi-state lottery game brought to you by Powerball and the NFL is set to make its debut. Tickets for Powerball Xs & Os™ go on sale Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, with the first drawing scheduled for Sunday Sept. 13, 2026.

Powerball Xs & Os puts a football-inspired twist on the traditional lottery draw game. Instead of picking numbers, players will choose logos of eight of the 32 NFL Teams. Tickets are $5 per play. At 10 p.m. each Sunday, a random drawing will select eight winning teams.

Powerball Xs & Os tickets win prizes if they match at least four of the eight winning team logos. If your ticket matches all eight of the winning team logos, you win the jackpot, which starts at $1 million and increases after each drawing that does not produce a jackpot winner. The prize structure is as follows:

  • Match 8 of 8 Teams: Jackpot
  • Match 7 of 8 Teams: $20,000
  • Match 6 of 8 Teams: $500
  • Match 5 of 8 Teams: $40
  • Match 4 of 8 Teams: $7

The drawing results are random, and are not based on, or determined by, the outcomes of NFL games.

At launch, Powerball Xs & Os tickets will be available in 24 lottery jurisdictions, including Maryland.

The game’s launch also marks the start of the new national Powerball promotional prize program. Eligible Powerball Xs & Os tickets (winning and non-winning) that are entered into the program will earn points that can be used to enter drawings for exclusive prizes, including a trip to Super Bowl LXI in Inglewood, Calif., NFL Shop gift cards and unique NFL experiences. The promotional prize program will be run through the PowerballOfficial.com website.
