Lottery and Ravens partner for 16th year of scratch-offs and second-chance prizes
Shannan Brown of Aberdeen believes her dad was smiling down on her Wednesday morning after she won Ravens season tickets for 20 years.
Shannan’s prize includes a pair of club-level seats and a parking pass for every Baltimore Ravens preseason and regular season game for the next two decades. The “Ravens Seats For 20 Years” prize marked the culmination of the Maryland Lottery’s Ravens’ Second-Chance Promotion for the 2024 football season.
According to Shannan, she credits her late dad for this win.
“We lost my dad last year. He was a Vietnam vet and the life of every Ravens game we watched,” Shannan said. “Although his health wouldn’t allow him to go to a game, we stayed right by his side and cheered the Ravens on together.”
“We took the games very seriously,” Shannan continued. “I mean, birthdays were placed on hold for goodness sake. I believe deep in my heart my dad is watching over us and wanted this to be the very last gift he could present to me and my family in his absence. ”
Shannan was one of six finalists “Seats For 20 Years” prize, along with Teah Ivey from Salisbury; James Jones from Lusby; Darla Robbins from Pasadena; Guang Shi from Brooklyn, N.Y.; and Robert Snow from Aspen Hill. All six finalists and their guests were invited to M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore for a tour, and each finalist also received $10,000.
The finalists were randomly selected from more than a million entries in the “Ravens Seats For 20 Years” drawings as part of Maryland Lottery’s Ravens Second-Chance Promotion.
The finalists and their guests arrived at the stadium Wednesday morning unaware of who would be revealed as the big winner. Former Ravens and Towson University running back Terrance West was on hand to announce the winner.
As Shannan found out she was the winner, the Harford County resident started to scream and cry with excitement. She was joined by her husband and two kids. Now she must decide who will join her for each game.
“We are going to have to alternate,” Shannan said with a smile as she wiped away tears. “We have 20 years to figure it out.”
The 2024 season marked the 16th consecutive year that the Maryland Lottery and the Baltimore Ravens have partnered up to offer scratch-off tickets and second-chance prizes.
Lottery players entered non-winning $2 Ravens X2 and $10 Ravens X10 scratch-off tickets into a series of promotional drawings, which generated more than 4 million entries and awarded more than $659,250 in cash and Ravens-themed prizes throughout the 2024 football season. Prizes included “Seats for 20 Years,” cash, a trip on the team train for the game at the New York Giants, single-season ticket packages, “Fan of the Game” prizes and “Pass for Cash” game-day experiences.
While the football season is over, the Ravens scratch-offs are still on sale, and there are top prizes on each ticket that remain unclaimed. As of Feb. 19, the $10 Ravens ticket has five unclaimed $200,000, top-prizes, three unclaimed prizes of $25,000 and three unclaimed prizes of $10,000, along with thousands of additional prizes ranging from $10 to $1,000. As of Feb. 19, the $2 ticket has three unclaimed $20,000 top-prizes along with thousands of others ranging between $2 and $5,000.
