Adelphi Couple to Cover Baby Expenses with $47,545 Racetrax Prize

Long-odds horses in Superfecta Box bet configuration pays big bucks

A Prince George’s County couple who won $47,545 on Aug. 3 playing Racetrax just arrived at Maryland Lottery headquarters to claim their prize. Their delay is due to a very special impending arrival of their own – the birth of their child! Getting ready for the baby took priority, said the happy pair.

The Adelphi residents enjoy playing Racetrax together and found their lucky win at Zip In Food Market in Hyattsville. They played long-odds horses in a Superfecta Box bet configuration for 20 races. Their selected horses were 8, 10, 11 and 12. For the Superfecta Box bet, if all four selected horses finish in the first four positions, in any order, it’s a win.

As for the prize, it will help the pair get ready for their new baby.

Sharing in the good times is Zip In Food Market located at 3599 East West Highway. The Prince George’s County store picks up a bonus of $475.45, equal to 1% of the prize, for selling a winning Racetrax ticket worth $10,000 or more.
