Anne Arundel County Retailer Sells Winning Ticket Worth $1,000 a Week for Life

Maryland Lottery seeks player who bought lucky Cash4Life ticket

A lucky Maryland Lottery player landed the win of a lifetime on June 15, courtesy of the multi-state Cash4Life game. Wawa #572 in Millersville sold a second-tier winning Cash4Life ticket worth $1,000 a week for life!

The player holding the lucky ticket in the June 15 drawing is the first to win a second-tier $1,000-a-week-for-life Cash4Life prize in Maryland in 2022 and the seventh since the game became available in the state in 2016.

The Anne Arundel County retailer, located at 8300 Veterans Highway, will receive a $2,500 bonus from the Lottery for selling a second-tier winning Cash4Life ticket.

The winner can choose between a $1,000-a-week-for-life annuity paid in annual installments of $52,000 a year, or a $1 million cash option (before taxes). Check your ticket for the winning numbers of 8, 15, 40, 50 and 56; the Cash Ball was 3. Our lucky winner matched the first five numbers, but did not match the Cash Ball.

The Maryland Lottery began offering the Cash4Life game in January 2016. Ten states participate: Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Maryland, Missouri, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Tennessee. Since the game began in June 2014, Cash4Life has had 59 top-prize winners and 147 second-tier winners. Maryland has now had three top-prize winners and seven second-tier prize winners. The top-tier prize is $1,000 a day for life.

This player isn’t the only happy Cash4Life winner in the drawing. There were a total of 3,175 Maryland winners of prizes of $2 and up in the June 15 drawing. Winners have 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes. Lottery officials strongly encourage all winners to sign the back of their tickets immediately and keep them in a safe location.
