Another $50,000 Cash Top Prize Grabbed by Hyattsville Pizza Man

Player is rolling in the dough with $50,000 win

An avid Lottery player from Prince George’s County won $50,000 while on break from work at a local pizzeria in Anne Arundel County. Instead of tossing the dough, the pizza maker is rolling in it with his top-prize win on a $50,000 Cash scratch-off.

Lottery luck shone on the lucky player earlier this week at Giant store #324 in Pasadena. He stopped in specifically to purchase scratch-offs out of the Lottery self-serve vending machine. The Hyattsville resident chose the $50,000 Cash game because of the number of top prizes available on the $20 instant ticket. He played the games in the store and revealed the $50,000 prize.

“I first scanned it and the message said to take to the Lottery, then the cashier ran it for me and told me it was a $50,000 winner,” said the lucky guy. “I couldn’t believe it.”

The father of one told Lottery officials that this is the most he’s ever won. He shared that he might use some of the prize for a down payment on a house, but is still thinking about it.

The Lottery retailer that sold the winning instant ticket is getting extra dough, too. Giant #324 located at 4315 Mountain Road in Pasadena will receive a bonus from the Lottery of $500, equal to 1% of the $50,000 prize.

There are 130 more $50,000 prizes available on the $50,000 Cash game. In December 2022, the game went on sale with 160 top prizes. Also unclaimed are 143 $5,000 prizes and more than 933,000 prizes ranging from $20 to $500.
