Baltimore Army Veteran Wins $61,155.30 on Long Odds Racetrax Bet

An Army veteran from Baltimore claimed a hefty Racetrax prize July 6 at Lottery headquarters, thanks to a superfecta boxed bet. He mostly plays Pick 3 and Pick 4, seldomly partaking of the animated equestrian game, but when he does play horses, he prefers the ones with high numbers and long odds.

Playing the long-odds horses can lead to a big win, and a 10-cent base bet on 9, 10, 11 and 12 superfecta box configuration earned him a $61,155.30 payday.

On June 19, he placed the bet at Ingleside Food Mart at 1022 Ingleside Avenue in Catonsville, playing it for 10 races. Pressed for time, he couldn’t stay to watch the races after buying his ticket, so he ended up going back to the store later to check the ticket. That’s when he saw the win: the horses finished 9, 12, 10 and 11 for one of his races, giving him the big win.

He called and shared the great news with his parents. His only plans so far as of this week are to pay bills and save.

Ingleside Food Mart receives a $611 bonus.
