Denise McIntosh of Baltimore is celebrating a life-changing $50,000 scratch-off prize.
Claims top prize on $50,000 Cash game
A Baltimore mother of two is celebrating a life-changing $50,000 scratch-off prize that she landed during a recent shopping trip to a Towson Walmart.
As she visited the store last week, Denise McIntosh paid a visit to the self-serve Lottery vending machine. Denise bought five scratch-offs but none were winners. “I thought, ‘Let me buy that last one,’” she recalled while sitting in the Winner’s Circle at Lottery headquarters. That last instant ticket was a $20 $50,000 Cash scratch-off, which still has 144 of its $50,000 top prizes remaining. Denise said she enjoys $20 games and has won some great prizes, including a $10,000 win last year.
She and her husband then headed to their vehicle with the scratch-off and their purchases. “I scratched it while walking out of the store and then I scanned it on my phone,” Denise said. Surprised, she realized she won the game’s top prize and shared the great news with her spouse.
“I said, ‘I think I’m going to cry!’” she recalled. “He was like, ‘Let’s go home.’” Denise was so worried about having a $50,000 winning scratch-off in her house that she couldn’t sleep.
The lucky lady, who works as a night shift aide at a nursing home, plans to pay off a few bills, noting that the prize is life-changing for her family. Her Lottery retailer also shares in the fun of her win. For selling a $50,000 top-prize winning scratch-off in the $50,000 Cash game, Walmart #5344 located at 1238 Putty Hill Avenue in Towson earns a $500 bonus from the Lottery.
