Winner and her nephew are loyal fans of simulated thoroughbred action
A Racetrax player from Baltimore City scored a $31,311 win on Sept. 14 playing the long-odds horses – 11, 12 and 10 – on a $1 Trifecta bet for five drawings.
The lucky lady said she enjoys playing the simulated horseracing game, and her favorite part is picking the numbers to play. A Trifecta bet requires the selection of three horses to place in first, second and third place in that exact order. Her big win came in the third of her five races. As for her prize, the winner said she doesn’t have any plans yet for how she will enjoy her winnings.
The 77-year-old’s nephew accompanied her to Lottery headquarters. Also a Racetrax fan, the nephew favors Quinella bets that have players pick two horses to win first and second place in any order. He’s picked up the occasional win that way, with his best score to date at the $500 level.
The lucky player observed that keeping a poker face after a win is generally a good idea. “You can’t get too excited because you don’t know who’s watching,” the nephew said.
Sharing in the $31,311 winner’s good luck is Quick Mart at 300 Trappe Road in Dundalk. The Baltimore County business receives a Lottery bonus of $313.11, equal to 1% of the prize, for selling a winning Racetrax ticket worth $10,000 or more.
