Baltimore Scratch-Off Enthusiast Wins $50,000 on Gifted Ticket

Will enjoy prize by helping grandchildren and giving a ‘little bit’ to gift giver

A Baltimore instant ticket fan who favors bingo- and crossword-themed scratch-offs received, as a gift from a friend, a lucky-themed game that lived up to its name. The $5 Lucky instant ticket sent the scratch-off enthusiast straight to the Winner’s Circle at Maryland Lottery headquarters to celebrate winning a $50,000 top prize.

The happy player plans to share the big win with her generous friend, saying, “He’ll be getting a little bit!”

The 50-year-old has played scratch-off games for years, saying she enjoys the thrill of “not knowing whether you win or not” when you buy and play the games. Her routine is to buy an instant ticket or two and scratch them off at the end of the day when she is in bed and ready to go to sleep.

The happy woman plans to give some of the prize to her four grandchildren, who are ages 3 to 15. After doing that, the winner will share some of the proceeds with her friend and do something nice for herself like spending a day at a spa.

Also picking up something nice from the Lottery is Edgewood Liquor. The Baltimore City store, located at 3302 Edgewood Street, receives a bonus of $500 from the Lottery for selling a $50,000 top-prize winning scratch-off. The $5 Lucky game went on sale in September 2021 and still has three top prizes remaining.
