A Baltimore social worker who enjoys playing Maryland Lottery games found herself in a state of shock when a Ravens X10 scratch-off delivered a $50,000 prize.
The winner claimed her prize Aug. 31 at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.
The winner is a fan of several Maryland Lottery games, including Racetrax, Pick 3, Pick 4 and scratch-offs. She also spends her free time giving back to her community through volunteering.
On the day she discovered her win, the player stopped at Boost Mobile at 3419 Clifton Avenue in Baltimore where she purchased several Lottery tickets.
After returning home, she got busy washing clothes. In between loads of laundry, she decided to scratch her tickets. When she revealed the winning symbols on her Ravens X10 ticket, she immediately knew she had won.
But instead of jumping for joy, she froze.
“I was more shocked than excited,” the winner said.
Keeping her $50,000 win low key, the social worker has yet to share the news with anyone in her circle.
While she does not have any immediate plans for her winnings, she knows one thing she would like to do with the money: pay some bills.
For now, the winner is enjoying the unexpected surprise and keeping her $50,000 payday close to home.
The Ravens X10 launched in July and there are three $200,000 top prizes remaining. Many other prizes are still unclaimed including two $50,000, six $10,000 and tens of thousands of other prizes ranging from $10 to $1,000.
Boost Mobile will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Players can enter the Ravens second-chance promotion by entering non-winning Ravens scratch-offs into their My Lottery Rewards accounts. They can then select which prize drawings they would like to enter. The next drawing will take place on Aug. 24. The second-chance promotion prizes available throughout the promotion are season tickets for 20 years, $10,000 cash, an away trip with the team to the Carolina Panthers game in Charlotte on Nov. 22, season tickets for 2026, Pass for Cash On-Field Experience, Champions Club passes for one game this season and Fan of the Game.
