Claims Pick 5 top prize from April 29
Immediately after telling Lottery officials that the inspiration for the Pick 5 combination that delivered her top-prize win late last month were birthday dates, she made it clear that the birthday wasn’t hers. The Frederick County woman attributed her biggest-ever Lottery win not to random chance, luck or good fortune, but to her late mother.
“I’ve been thinking about my mom recently, more so than I usually do,” the health care specialist told us. “It gave me the idea to use some numbers from her birthday for my Pick 5 numbers.” She’s been playing the combination whenever buying tickets these last few weeks.
When the Frederick resident used her Lottery app to check the night’s results on April 29, she was in no way prepared for the shock coming her way. “It really was unbelievable. I went from joy to doubt and back again.”
The surprise Pick 5 winning ticket was purchased from Carroll Fuel in Damascus. The Montgomery County business, which can be found at 26234 Ridge Road, received a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling the top-prize winning ticket.
This $50,000 win is a great relief for our Frederick winner. “We have some bills coming due soon,” she explained. “This takes care of all of them and then some.”
